Far From Home[]
Malcolm: Hello! Anybody out there? I see you; you don’t have to run from me. I am in a little predicament. I need assistance. Can you help?
No answer. One figure starts slowly lumbering towards him. It falls down a few times, but still continues to pursue. Foe it is not human. At least, not anymore. His yelling has drawn more of a crowd, all deceased. They crowd around.
Malcolm: Shit, Shit, Shit!
He walks back to the tree house as quickly as he can, but is abruptly stopped by one biter coming towards him quickly.
Malcolm: AUUGH!
KROOM
The biter is dead right in front of him. A man holding a shotgun stands about ten yards away. He is a big, burly man with a woman beside him. He speaks with a deep, masculine voice.
Chance: Come with us. You’ll be safer. The noise will bring a horde. Let’s go quickly now. I own a place up a ways. We’ll all be safe.
In a large house, Malcolm stays with Chance Trice and his girlfriend Savannah Brooks for the night.
We’ve stayed here for about 3 months. We, my mom included, were taking care of my Dad who had a cardiovascular issue. Savannah worked as a nurse and was the hospital. I was an eight grade English teacher. When I came home from work one day, I found my parents with bullets inside of their skulls. They hadn’t been bit or turned or nothing. Just there in pools of blood and the door unlocked and open a few inches. I guess the old were terminated as a hazard. Bastards.
Savannah: When Chance called me to say wheat he saw I was in shock. He was three hours away and I had just got a patient come in saying some guy bit him on the leg. I told him to pick me up as soon as he could and went back to work. We were trying to figure out what happened over the course of two hours and lost him. I went to get Dr. Stephens to get his help. When I came back with him and Betty, another nurse, the man was awake, but had no pupils. It was if he wasn’t human. Dr. Havarti tried to help him out but he jumped at him and bit his neck. He chased people around on his hands and knees, like some sort of animal. He tore through the halls, biting patients, and doctors and even got Betty. I didn’t see her get back up. We called in the police and Officer John Smith came in with a few deputies. They tried stopping it, but its victims became just like them. I was lucky to get out of there alive, and when I did with Dr. Stephens, we saw the wreckage. I called Chance right away and he was down the street with the same issue. He found me hiding from a few and shot them all. We had no choice but to get out of King County. We never saw anyone from there again
Malcolm: You found me though
Chance: And your group left you
Malcolm: Yea. My brother in law was bad news. He would beat my sister, day and night, until finally I decided to put a stop to it. I was so full of rage that I tortured him till he died. When he turned I drove a knife into his skull so many times that I got more of a workout than I would lifting weights. My group was not pleased, and I left them. I don’t know if they are alive or dead. The sad thing is, I don’t know if I care. I love them all, but they can sometimes be a pain in the ass. Now that I think about them, I want to be with them. Come on guys, let’s find them. They could use our help
