Monroe

Monroe is a post-apocalyptic horror, set six months into the apocalypse. It is written by Headaches.

Plot

On 11^th February 2015, six months into the apocalypse, an emergency message from the army was broadcast on all radio frequencies. It urged any remaining survivors across Great Britain to head to several evacuation points, such as Monroe Shopping Village – a rescue point in Scotland where the army were once based but had to flee after it was overrun by biters. The army’s infection surveillance unit were able to monitor the survivors via satellite and radio, setting them missions essential for their survival. Ten people from various backgrounds eventually congregated at the shopping village. With only seven days until they were rescued by helicopter, all the survivors needed to do was follow the army's instructions and stay safe.

Characters

In this story, there are two groups of people. The first is a group of ten survivors, who are aided by two army officers (which act as narrators for the story). These officers are heard but never seen, with only communication being through handheld walkie-talkies.

Survivors Brianna A dark-skinned beauty in her late twenties, equipped with a good sense of humour. Neil A lad's lad, quietly struggling with the loss of his children. Ashley Blonde and beautiful yet un-stereotypically book smart. Scott A teenager that had been studying at university before the apocalypse. Steph A calm, collective woman who loves to read. Hunter A brown-haired heartthrob, well-built and likes to show off.

Sylvia Mother of the group, trying to replace her recently deceased grand-children with the younger members of the group. Finley A hot-headed Irishman with a fight in him. Olive Chubby, loud and annoying, has survived by pretending she was friendly and weak and then stabbing survivors in the back. Sylvester A friendly, average joe who always keeps a clear head. Army Officers Female Officer A woman who relays information between the army base and Monroe Shopping Village. Male Officer A man who seems to be the woman's supervisor, asking her questions about the status of the survivors.
